San Francisco is known for being a pet-friendly city. There are tons of places to take your dog besides a neighborhood walk. Dog-friendly parks in San Francisco can be found all over the city. This blog suggests several dog-friendly parks where you can take your furry friend for some outdoor fun. Here are some parks we recommend you check out this Summer!

 

Explore Crissy Field: A Top Dog-Friendly Park in San FranciscoCrissy Field

Located in the Presidio, Crissy Fieldoffers beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay. It offers beautiful trails and beaches to enjoy outdoor adventures with your dog. Crissy Field also has a designated off-leash area where dogs can play and socialize. Bring a picnic basket and a blanket for a lovely afternoon hangout with your four-legged friends. 

 

Fort Funston

This park is a favorite among dog owners and dogs alike! It features sandy dunes, coastal trails, and off-leash areas where dogs can roam freely and play. Since it’s located so close to the beach, Fort Funstonexperiences some strong winds, so be sure to come prepared for the breeze. As long as you’re prepared for the weather, you’ll have a blast playing fetch on the beach and running through the water.

 

Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Parkis a trendy park in San Francisco that offers four separate off-leash play areas to choose from! This park offers an area for small and large dogs in case your dog has a preference for who they like to play with. Doggy fountains are available to refill your water bottles and keep the fun going! Dogs that play in the off-leash spaces must be under voice control. Be sure to come prepared with some snacks because your pup will be spending a lot of time at this park!

 

Alamo Square Park

This park is famous for its picturesque view of the “Painted Ladies” Victorian houses and was featured in the opening credits of the television sitcom ‘Full House.’ In addition to its media fame, Alamo Square Park offers fantastic city views that you and your dog can enjoy. Dogs are welcome on leashes and can enjoy the open green space for a pleasant little stroll through the city.

 

Stern Grove Dog Park

Located in the Stern Grove neighborhood, Stern Grove Dog Parkis an off-leash dog park that provides a safe and fenced area for dogs to play and socialize. It is known as a peaceful getaway in San Francisco and offers trails, picnic areas, separate areas for small and large dogs, and tons of nature to enjoy. If your dog enjoys a more relaxed outing and being surrounded by trees, then this park is for you!

Duboce Park 

This is your typical neighborhood dog park, situated near the Castro neighborhood. Duboce Parkhas a designated off-leash area where dogs can play and socialize close to home. Please note this park is not fenced, so please keep your dogs on a leash if they have a poor recall.
